Driving While Intoxicated Education Program DSHS State Approved
Education Resource provides state approved DWI classes certified by Texas Department of State Health Services. This class is a requirement in Texas for any person convicted of a first offense DWI. This class can also be taken pre-trial. For some, this class can be taken for the purpose of obtaining a suspended driver's license. Upon completion of the course, the participant is presented with a Texas State issued numbered certificate.

Course Fee (12-hours): $80.00


 DWI Class Policies:
1. Students must register (online or by phone) prior to class in order to attend.
2. Students must not have had any alcoholic beverage or be under the influence of any drug before attending class.
3. Students must attend all sessions in their proper order.
4. Beverages and snacks are permitted during class sessions. Smoking is not permitted inside the building.
5. Cell phones and all electronic devices must be turned off during class.
6. The fee for this course is $80.00 (cash or money order) payable at registration the first day of class. The option to pay by PayPal is also offered when registration is completed online. This fee must be paid prior to the admission to the first class and is not refundable.
7. All assigned worksheets and papers must be turned in to the instructor in order to obtain the certificate of completion.
8. Students must make a score of 70% on the post test to receive a certificate.

NOTIFICATIONS
- Important Information -

 For Probation, Pre-Trial, or Reduced Charges:
1. Upon successful completion of the course, the student is given an official State of Texas numbered certificate.
2. A copy of the certificate is sent to the DPS.
3. Education Resource notifies the probation officer within ten days of completion of course.

 For Out-of-State:
1. You are provided with the Participant and DPS copies of the State of Texas Certificate.
2. For Out-of-State cases, it is your responsibility to get the DPS copy to where ever it needs to go. There may be other situations where Education Resource will need to contact Out-of-State Court Officials.
